Antarctica: Alien:
After you destroy the military bot, go into the encampment. You will find a trapped alien. Let him out by using a Multitool and tell him to guard. Do not let the Greasel out or he will attack you.
Cairo: Finding the two missing schoolgirls:
Go to the Tarsus academy when you are in Cairo for the first time. Work your way in and you will find a guard who wants you to kill a Greasel. Accept his offer and kill the Greasel. In that room you can also find a Biomod Canister. There is a vent at the other end of the room. Crawl in and make your way through. You will reach a room with the two girls, and they can give you informnation.
Liberty Island: Follow the shooter:
When on Liberty Island the fist time, try to shoot the bot or Denton brother from a far distance with the pistol or rifle, then run. As long as you keep far enough away from their gunfire, they will follow you and you will not get shot. After getting to the enemy position hide until the crosshair over them turns green again and they will help you fight enemies. This is a good way to destroy the robot near the front entrance.
Lower Seattle Slums: Trash multitool:
When you are past the clean up the spill at the incinerator, travel to the Lower Seattle Slums. Open the first trash dumpster to find a multitool. It is very difficult, but not impossible, to get back out.
Seattle: Entering apartments:
In the Emerald Suites in Seattle, there are several ways to enter the penthouse, Dr. Nassif’s apartment, and apartment 2226 in which the lawyer who the owner of Club Vox asks you to kill, lives. If you have several Multitools, use them to disable the power in the elevator shaft. From there you can access a vent shaft that leads to the Minister Of Culture’s penthouse. At the end of the hall (not the penthouse), you can find a Multitool under the staircase. Use it to disable the power to the alarms of apartment 2226 and you can break the glass sunroof to gain entry. You can also use the Glass Destabilizer and save your Multitool. However, be sure to have an EMP or Scrambler Grenade for a Security Bot on the roof. Elsewhere in the suites is an easy to find vent shaft that leads into Dr. Nassif’s apartment.
How to defeat military bots:
Pick up the Mag Rail at Mako Ballisics. When you encounter a military bot, instead of using EMP Grenades, use the secondary fire option for the Mag Rail. This can also be used on other machines that require an EMP attack to be destroyed.
Use the following trick to destroy military bots without ammunition. The illegal biomod Bot Control level 3 is required for this trick. However you should be able to get it to level 3 easily as it is later in the game. When you fight military bots in the middle to end part of the game, you often will have no ammunition remaining, need to preserve your current stock, or just want to be quiet. Sneak up onto the back of the military bot. This is not too difficult, as it is one of the slowest robots at turning. Look at it until the surrounding selecting box appears (like everything else that is interactive) and “Dominate Robot” appears. Select it and sneak away somewhere into the shadows. The military bot with rocket launchers will now be in your control for a one minute rampage, allowing you to easily kill all Templars around you. Note: At the very end were Templars have rocket launchers, kill those first. Otherwise, you will have a difficult fight after getting hit by three shots.
Taking over bots:
Couple the Bot Domination mod with Thermal Masking. Thermal masking gives you the ability to become invisible to almost all bots, turrets and cameras. This allows you to walk up to bots, turrets, or cameras without fear of retaliation. Once next to the target, use Bot Domination to take control of it to get some good firepower.
Free Biocanister:
Find the mutant and get a sample before bartering with the Omar in Seattle to get a 50% discount and a free Black Market Biocanister. It is in the basement of Club Vox in Upper Seattle.
Free Spider Bots:
When you find a Spider Bot Grenade, shoot it with a ballistic weapon (pistol, SMG, etc.) and you will get free Spider Bots.
Assassin Pistol:
This is a pistol with a zoom function instead of a flashlight, and also seems to be more powerful. It is a good substitute for a sniper rifle. It is inside the Nine Worlds Tavern in Trier Germany. Once inside, there is a part where you will see stairs that lead up to a closed door and down into a bar. Go up, pick the lock, and enter. You will meet the Omar here if you can find their contact. In one of the corners under some junk (you must throw it around as it hides the stash), you will find the weapon along with some other assorted items.
Dragon Tooth Sword:
This is an energy sword that hurts very much. Go inside JC’s sanctuary. It is on top of a bookshelf when you enter the first remembered area (Maggie Chow’s apartment, Hong Kong, from the first game).
Explosive crates:
Use explosive crates whenever you can to blow up cameras, beams, turrets and almost anything else that gets in your way.
Hellfire Boltcaster:
This is a boltcaster that makes enemies burst into flames instead of being knocked out. Its inside the Nassif greenhouse and is slightly difficult to get. Go through the warehouse and into the office, then make a left in the hall (away from hydroponics control). Then, save the game when you get to the balcony save (so you do not have to run all the way around). Carefully jump to the beams sticking out on the other side of the rail. Then, jump to the ledge to your right. It is small, but you can stand on it. Use the outcropping window as a foothold to jump up onto the balcony above you, then go through the vent shaft. In this room you will find the weapon in the corner amidst some junk.
There is a hidden boltcaster in the Tarsus Academy in Seattle. Go to your room and Billie will tell you to look up at the ceiling. It will disappear. Then, jump and climb up onto the ledge above the counter. Jump to the other side and you will find a boltcaster.
Medkits:
After returning to Cairo for the second time, go downstairs in the mosque and talk to a doctor. He will tell you about the Templar and a military bot controlling the mosque. Dispose of the bot and the Templar then return to him. He will give you a Medkit as a reward. However, if your inventory is full, he will drop the Medkit on the floor. When talking with him again, he will try to give you another Medkit, and again drop it on the floor. This can be done as many times as desired to get an unlimited supply of Medkits. Just make sure your inventory is full before talking to him about the reward.
Proximity mines:
You can use the alternate fire of the proximity mines to set a timer. This is also useful for blowing up beams and turrets that are not triggered regularly.
Red Greasel Hunter:
This is a pistol with a red flashlight. In Lower Seattle, you can find this under the sewer grate in front of the Greasel Pit Bar. It is lying near or under an Omar corpse. Watch out; you will have to kill two Karkians to get it. If you do not like close encounters, once they start chasing you, climb out and drop a concussion grenade on them.
Toxic gas:
Shoot cylinders that contain toxic gas to fill a the room and kill anyone within the blast radius. Also, if you have the strength modification you can pick up these cylinders and throw them into a desired room. This is a good way to kill guards without being seen.
Toxin Blade:
This is a knife that does excellent damage and stuns your opponents with the first hit. In Upper Seattle within the Emerald Suites building, you can find the Toxin Blade. It is in the apartment next to Dr. Nassif’s under the pillow on the bed. There is one hostile in the apartment.
Widowmaker:
This is a SMG that fires Spider bots instead of flash grenades at the expense of an entire ammo clip. It can be found in the Cairo Archology on your second visit. From floor 107, near the Templar recruiting booth and Tarsus academy, go down the ramp into the maintenance area. Make a left and look on the right wall for an opening. Crawl in, make a left, then look left for another opening. Push the junk out of your way and enter the little hiding place. It is near a corpse.
Free Pilot:
You will need some Multitools and the Neural Interface Biomod to do this trick. In Lower Seattle, there is a bar called the Greasel Pit. Look around until you find an empty room with a Holocomm inside. A girl named Ava Johnson will start talking to you, saying that the WTO is holding her captive. She wants you to help her escape. Go to the WTO Air Terminal and to that elevator that two guards are standing by (you will have the keycode by now). Wait until the bot is not looking then move straight up the stairs. Go all the way down the walkway. To your right is a building guarded by a camera. Sneak past the camera and unlock the door with a Multitool. Go in, hack the security computer, turn off the turret, then sneak back up the walkway. To the left there is a bot guarding another building. When it is facing away from you, drop down and crouch behind the boxes or the turret. Wait for the correct moment to make a dash for the door. Once inside, deactivate the second turret, but do not leave just yet. There is a vent in the room that you can use a Multitool on. Hop in, move to the right, and get the other Multitool. Then, go back and head up the vent. You can turn on the Pilot Beacon from inside this room. Head back down the vent. There are now more guards outside looking for you. It is slightly difficult to get to the helipad from here, Try waiting until the bot is not looking and make a mad dash for it. Once you talk to Ava, she will give you free transportation for the rest of the game. It is difficult to do this, but is well worth it as you will have a lot more money to spend on other things. Note: If you are working for the WTO they will get mad at you for doing this, but will let it slide.
Emerald Suites Penthouse:
At the Greasel Pit bar in Lower Seattle, you can talk to the man who owns the penthouse at Emerald Suites. Talk to him and agree to be his “chamber boy”. He will give you the key. He warns you to stay in the kitchen “or the bot will take offense”. However, it is just a spider bot and can be taken out easily. From there, you can hack the security terminal to turn off the laser grid, then go upstairs and hack another to open his vault. From in there, you can find all sorts of items , including an Energy Blade and the evidence the WTO wants you to find for a secondary mission.
Omar contact In Germany:
In Trier, Germany instead of wasting your “precious” multitools to find the Assassin Pistol, go to the Coffee Shop near the Nine Worlds Tavern. Inside you will find a black man in a suit, in the left corner near the snacks and drinks. Talk to him and you will find out he is David Kurzac, the arms dealer. He will give you access to the door of the Nine Worlds Tavern to make trade with the Omar and/or find the Assassin Pistol.
Beating most security systems:
This trick involves a Baton and the Black Market “EMP Burst” biomod. Strength also does not hurt, but try not to max it out. Thermal Masking is a definite bonus. Cameras and turrets can be disabled by pummeling them with the EMP enhancement doubled with the Baton, thus disabling it without the risk of destroying it (and taking damage and alerting guards with the noise). Also, lasers can be disabled without the use of multi-tools by striking the small diamond on the wall from which each beam emanates. Gas (green) lasers do not hurt you, but release gas in the surrounding area. However, by destroying the “Gas Release Panels” that can be found nearby with grenades or other explosions, you disable the danger altogether. Further manipulation is possible with the “Neural Interface” biomod.
Save health and energy:
Using the Active Black Market Biomod that allows you to control an EMP Armed Spybot next to an Engineering Bot that refills your Bioelectricity. This allows you to have an infinite range. You can destroy all electrical equipment and bots in the vicinity without having to use energy cells or risk health.
Assassinate Mag Rail Scientist and get weapon:
You may want to have quite a bit of ammunition for this, as the scientist is remarkably difficult to kill. The fastest melee way is to club him down, then finish with knife. When traveling down corridor to lab entrance before or after talking to the gun tech, get one of the boxes in the hall. Do not to threaten him and he will unlock the control lock. However, before you press the button (but after he enters the room), place the box in the way of the door so that it cannot close. Press the “Containment Release” button, but do not take the rifle yet. First, take care of the security bot, either by way of neural interfacing the panel on the wall or EMP grenade, then the guard. Carefully crouch and mount the box. Walk up the stairs, making sure not to move the box out of the door’s path, as you will not be able to get out. Once at the control room, attack the scientist, and be praised by the order. Next, clear the same treacherous doorway to claim your prize from the WTO. By doing this, you will be reprimanded by Chen, but you will still be able to claim your rewards from both factions: A Legal Biomod can from Billie in the order Mosque in Cairo, and an additional helpful item from Sparks upon reaching her in the Tarsus school above in Arcology.
Getting items:
When in any area, check dumpsters and look behind small boxes or items for multitools, food, guns, ammo, etc.
Killing bots and slaying things silently:
This style of game play requires more sneaky mods. Have your Silent Movement Biomods on any level. In Lower Seattle, open the grate when you first get out of the Inclinator. Go down into it and you will have to battle two Karkians. After you kill them, find the dead Omar. Underneath or near him you will find a pistol with a red flashlight (Red Greasel Hunter) and a sword. This is the most powerful close combat weapon in the game, other than the one you find in JC Denton’s sanctuary. For your next Biomods, upgrade your strength and use Black Market Biomods for EMP Attack. If you need to kill a bot, either sneak up behind it or just run up to it and avoid getting shot. Hack it a few times and it is done. When killing military bots, run up to it and circle around it while you are hacking at it and start moving backwards so it does not explode on you. This combination is also good for silent, quick, and easy infiltration.
Raining Multitools:
In the Order Mosque where you meet up with Billie speaking to that man, repeatedly right click on the Multitools between them with a full inventory. It will start raining down more Multitools. Do this as often as desired, but be aware that if it is done too much the game will lag very badly.
