Armamentalist vocation access:
After making sure that Abbot Jack of Alltrades is back to the Alltrades Abbey, head inside the abbey. Find Windy (person in red hat) near the entrance and talk to him to receive the “Elementary Training” quest. This quest takes some time since you?re required to defeat a certain number of Metal Slimes, only with a character that has used the ability “Wizard Ward”. That exact character must deliver the final blow. Since your characters are probably very good levels at the point,? the Metal Slimes will usually flee. You need low level characters to prevent them from fleeing. It?s recommended that you use two new level 1 characters made in Stornway and have them die. Metal Slimes can be found at the Quaratomb, west of Coffinwell. If possible, try to engage Metal Slimes with two dead characters and two low health characters. When entering combat, use Wizard Ward as soon as possible while the other character defends the entire fight. Then, simply attack the Metal Slime until it dies After you defeat the corresponding number of Metal Slimes, go back to the Abbey and talk to Windy. You?ll now have access to the Armamentalist vocation.
Gladiator vocation access:
After making sure that Abbot Jack of Alltrades is back to Alltrades Abbey, go downstairs of the Abbey. Speak to the purple person standing in front of the Inn to receive the “Gladiator Graduator” quest, which requires you to defeat a certain number of slimes with a Super High-Tension Dragon Slash. Dragon Slash is an MP-free ability that only a handful of classes can learn. To achieve Super High-Tension, you must use “Egg On” on the same character many times. When on a Tension of 50, there is a 50% chance to successfully achieve Super High-Tension (Tension of 100). Keep ?Egging On? the same character until you achieve this. A fast way to finish this quest is by going to Newid Isle and repeatedly engaging with a Slime. Just make sure the Slimes don?t merge into a Slime Stack or a Slime King, since only Slimes count for this quest. Use Snooze to make them sleep, then keep Egging On the character with Dragon Slash, followed by Dragon Slash when the Tension is at 100. It?s possible to finish this quest with only one battle, as most of the time three or more Slimes will appear in battle. Return to the Abbey and talk to the purple person again to gain access to the very powerful Gladiator Vocation.
Luminary vocation access:
Complete the game, then travel to the Desert Kingdom of Gleeba. Go inside the Dance Hall and enter the backstage entrance to encounter Applaudia, who will train you to become a Luminary. You must also defeat a Moai Minstrel with the “Hot Lick” skill . Moai Minstrels can usually be found in high level Grottoes.
Paladin vocation access:
First, make s ure one of your characters knows the warrior ability “Whipping Boy”. Go to Gleeba (in the Djust Desert)? and enter the Mirage Mahal palace. Go on the roof, walk north, and talk to Brunhild to receive the quest “Taking Soul Control”. This quest requires you to successfully use “Whipping Boy” ten times. This quest is one of the easiest for unlocking other vocations and is possible to complete in a single battle. To make things easy, go in the desert and try to fight with Axolhotls. They usually appear in groups and attack the weakest characters in your party. Use Whipping Boy on your weakest character while other characters defend. Afterwards, return to Brunhild to access the Paladin vocation.
Ranger vocation access:
First, make sure you have a character with the ability to use knives. Go southeast of Dourbridge, towards Zere Rocks. Before entering the forest leading to Zere Rocks, talk to Odval to receive the “Ranger Changer” quest. This quest is incredibly simple. Find some Hocus Chimaeras and use the ability “Toxic Dagger” to poison a given amount of them. make sure they die by the venom, and not the other attacks. They each have about 70 HP so try to knock off some HP before using Toxic Dagger. After defeating the corresponding amount of Hocus Chimaeras, return to Odval to receive access to the Ranger vocation.
Sage vocation access:
Enter Gittingham Palace in the ruins of the Gitt Empire. Once inside, move counterclockwise around the first floor until you encounter a staircase. Climb the staircase and go to the hole in the floor. Directly next to the hole is a bookcase, with a book that actually contains a sage inside it. The Supreme Sage will ask you to defeat five great trolls with Frizz. An easy way to do this is by finding out how many attack turns it requires to kill the great troll. Then, bring the trolls down low enough so that the mage can finish the battle with Frizz.
Unlock Alchemy Pot:
First, complete the entire story related to the Wight Knight. Go to Quester’s Rest and Erinn will tell you that she found an interesting thing; the Alchemy Pot. With it, you can create new weapons, armors, accessories, items, etc. You can either try your luck or use recipes. From then on, you can get recipes by reading books, talking to certain NPCs, or receiving specific sidequests.
Birthday drop rate:
To increase the drop rate for items, set the system date to match your hero’s birthday.
Rare item shop:
In Dourbridge, go to the back of the village shop and enter the hidden door with the Ultimate Key. Head down the stairs to enter a secret shop that sells rare items.
DQVC mode:
This mode allows you to download a list of special items, usually rare or unobtainable elsewhere, at good prices. You also gain access to new quests and dungeons. Keep in mind that the dungeons and some side-quests are very new data compared to the items already included in the game’s code, waiting to be “released”. To get access to this feature, first complete the entire Coffinwell-related story. Then, go back to Quester’s Rest in Stornwell and talk to Sellma, the woman next to the Alchemy Pot. She is the person responsible for the DQVC. Note: You can only download new things once a day. However, you will get access to the shop at any time within that same day. New downloadable content is available everyday starting at 8 a.m.
Super High-Tension hint:
Super High-Tension makes any move performed while in this state more powerful, whether it is a spell, ability, or attack. To achieve this, make sure you have the “Egg On” ability (a 0 MP ability). Only the hero can receive it, when he talks to a certain women living under the tree in Zere. Every time you use this ability on someone, their tension will rise, increasing from 5 to 20, then to 50, and finally to 100. As soon as the character uses any move (besides defend), his Tension will return to? normal (0). Also, some states will return Tension to 0, such as falling asleep or getting paralyzed. Continue Egging On a certain character while they keep defending. Once a character has a tension of 50, you have a 50% chance to reach a tension of 100, so just keep Egging On. This is a very useful method to boost regular attacks offensive spells, or even for healing spells.
