PC Game Review

The Battle for Wesnoth is a free, open-source turn-based strategy game for PC that’s earned a devoted following thanks to its rich tactical depth, charming retro aesthetic, and an enthusiastic community that continues to build upon it. First released in 2003, Wesnoth is a bit of a unicorn – polished, feature-rich, and completely free, with no microtransactions, no strings attached, and enough content to put some commercial games to shame.

Set in a sprawling high-fantasy world filled with elves, orcs, undead, and plenty of political drama, Wesnoth serves up a collection of story-driven campaigns and scenarios that play out across grid-based battlefields. You’ll command armies, capture villages, level up units, and make tough decisions that can shape the outcome of each campaign. The storylines range from noble quests to desperate survival tales, and while the writing varies in tone, it consistently adds flavor to the already engaging gameplay.

The core mechanics are deceptively simple. Each turn, you move units across a hex map, engage in combat, recruit reinforcements, and try to control key terrain. Forests, hills, and castles all affect movement and defense, and the time of day plays a role in how much damage certain units can deal. But beneath this simplicity lies a complex web of tactics – positioning, unit synergy, and economy management all matter, and missteps can lead to cascading losses.

One of Wesnoth’s standout features is its unit progression system. Units gain experience through combat and can level up into more powerful classes, often branching into different specializations. This means you’re not just moving pieces around a board; you’re nurturing a core force that grows stronger over time, making losses feel more meaningful and victories all the more satisfying.

Visually, Wesnoth embraces a pixel-art style that feels timeless rather than dated. The sprites are colorful and detailed, with beautifully drawn backgrounds and smooth animations that do a great job of bringing the world to life. The soundtrack is also a highlight, filled with orchestral pieces that lend an epic, cinematic feel to the game’s fantasy setting.

Perhaps the most impressive part of The Battle for Wesnoth is the level of community involvement. The game includes robust tools for modding, creating new units, writing custom campaigns, and even developing new factions. There are hundreds of user-made scenarios available for download, adding endless replayability. The online multiplayer scene is also very much alive, offering everything from friendly skirmishes to hardcore tactical showdowns.

If there’s a downside, it’s the RNG factor. Combat relies on probability, and a string of unlucky hits or misses can swing a battle, which may frustrate players who prefer more deterministic strategy games. Some campaigns also have noticeable difficulty spikes, particularly for newcomers who haven’t yet mastered the importance of terrain or time-of-day mechanics.

Still, The Battle for Wesnoth stands as one of the best strategy games available – especially considering its zero-dollar price tag. It’s deep, rewarding, and packed with content. Whether you’re in it for the rich campaigns, the multiplayer duels, or the chance to design your own fantasy epic, Wesnoth offers a surprisingly rich battlefield experience. Download it, dive in, and prepare to lose track of time. Victory awaits. Probably. Assuming your archers don’t miss again.

Balls of Steel PC Review

Balls of Steel for PC is a 1997 pinball game that trades subtlety for swagger, and realism for ridiculousness. Developed by Australian game development company Wildfire Studios and published by Apogee (yes, the same crew behind Duke Nukem), Balls of Steel is a loud, fast, unapologetically over-the-top pinball experience. It aims less for simulation accuracy and more for arcade-style fun – with a side of wisecracks, explosions, and chaos.

The game features five unique tables: Darkside, Barbarian, Firestorm, Mutation Zone, and the infamous Duke Nukem table. Each one offers a distinct theme and layout, filled with ramps, bumpers, animated targets, and multi-ball madness. The Duke Nukem table in particular is packed with attitude, featuring voice lines from the man himself and enough testosterone to power a mid-90s action movie marathon.

Gameplay is tight and responsive, with surprisingly accurate ball physics for its time. The pinball flipper control feels sharp, and the ball movement, while slightly more forgiving than real-world pinball, still requires skill and timing. There’s a nice balance of challenge and accessibility here. Novices can have fun lighting up the playfield, while more advanced players will find depth in chasing combos, missions, and high scores.

Each table has its own objectives and scoring strategies, and many feature creative mini-games or triggered events that elevate the experience beyond simply keeping the ball alive. Firestorm, for instance, is loaded with fiery effects and destruction-themed missions, while Mutation Zone leans into science fiction weirdness, complete with mutating hazards and strange animations. The designs aren’t just visually distinct – they play differently too, with varied shot layouts and mission types.

Visually, Balls of Steel goes for a crisp, colorful, 2D look with hand-drawn playfields and animated elements that pop when activated. While the game isn’t in full 3D, the pseudo-perspective and detailed art do a great job of making each table feel dynamic. It’s not quite up there with modern pinball sims in terms of realism, but it’s stylish, fun, and full of personality.

The audio design is pure 90s arcade energy. Explosions, callouts, synthesized music, and plenty of Duke Nukem quotes create a sensory overload that suits the game’s tone. It’s not subtle, but that’s kind of the point. This is pinball turned up to eleven.

If there’s a downside, it’s that the game can get a little repetitive over long sessions, especially if you’re not chasing leaderboard scores. The humor and bombastic style might also wear thin if you’re not in the mood for it. And while the tables are fun, the lack of licensed real-world machines may be a downside for hardcore pinball simulation fans.

Still, Balls of Steel delivers exactly what its title promises: bold, brash pinball with attitude. It’s not trying to be Pinball FX or a detailed emulation of a real machine. It’s just here to have a blast, break stuff, and talk trash while doing it. If you’re into pinball and want something less traditional and more chaotic, this one’s worth firing up. Groovy.

Enclave PC Game Review and Overview

Enclave for PC is a dark fantasy hack-and-slash adventure that looks like it wandered out of a heavy metal album cover, sword raised high, and demanded your attention. Originally released in 2002 by Starbreeze Studios, this third-person action game throws you into a beautifully gritty world divided between Light and Darkness – literally. It’s part dungeon crawler, part medieval chaos simulator, with just enough charm and challenge to keep your sword arm swinging.

The story is delightfully dramatic: long ago, a massive chasm split the world, separating the noble forces of Light from the wicked hordes of Darkness. Now, that rift is closing, and war is inevitable. You’ll choose a side and fight for either righteousness or ruin, with each faction offering its own campaign. It’s a fun setup that lets you live out both your paladin fantasies and your secret dark sorcerer dreams, all in one game.

Gameplay in Enclave is all about brutal, up-close combat and precise ranged attacks. You’ll hack, slash, shoot, and cast your way through a series of linear missions, battling everything from goblins to heavily armored knights. Each side has a diverse lineup of characters to unlock – from nimble archers and battle-hardened warriors to spell-slinging mages – each with unique strengths and weaknesses. It’s a nice touch that adds variety and replayability to the campaign.

Where Enclave really shines is in its visual and audio presentation. For a game from 2002, the environments are downright gorgeous, packed with moody lighting, detailed textures, and architecture that feels ripped straight out of a dark fantasy novel. From rain-slicked castles to lava-filled caverns, each level oozes atmosphere. The music is equally epic, with orchestral swells that make even a routine goblin-squashing feel like part of an operatic saga.

That said, the game isn’t without its rusted edges. The combat, while satisfying, can feel clunky at times; especially in tight spaces or when facing multiple enemies. The hit detection occasionally goes on a coffee break, leading to some frustrating moments when your mighty axe swing whiffs straight through an enemy’s face. There’s also no save-anywhere option mid-level, so failure means starting over, which adds to the tension but might annoy modern gamers used to more forgiving checkpoints.

The narrative is fairly light (no pun intended), with only brief cutscenes and text to explain your objectives. While this keeps the pace brisk, it also means you won’t be forming any deep emotional bonds with the characters. You’re here to fight, not philosophize. Still, the dual campaigns and varied mission objectives do a solid job of keeping things interesting.

In the end, Enclave is a cult classic for a reason. It wears its ambition proudly, offering a richly detailed world, satisfying hack-and-slash gameplay, and the rare opportunity to fight on both sides of a massive good-vs-evil showdown. If you’re a fan of dark fantasy, medieval mayhem, and games that lean hard into atmosphere, Enclave is well worth unsheathing your sword for. Just remember: in this world, Light and Darkness are both deadly – and you’re the sharp edge in between.

Fantasy Wars for PC is a turn-based strategy game that combines tactical depth, a vibrant fantasy world, and a hefty dose of nostalgia for fans of classic hex-based wargames. Developed by 1C: Ino-Co and released in 2007, it delivers a satisfying mix of strategic planning, unit management, and epic battles between humans, orcs, elves, and dwarves. If you’re the type who loves plotting your every move like a chess master, this game has plenty to offer.

The story is a fantasy staple: warring factions vying for control of a kingdom, with alliances, betrayals, and plenty of sword-clashing drama. Told through campaign missions, you’ll take on the roles of different factions, each with its own perspective on the conflict. While the narrative isn’t groundbreaking, it’s serviceable and helps set the stage for the tactical showdowns that are the game’s real focus.

Gameplay is where Fantasy Wars shines. Battles are fought on hexagonal grids, where positioning, terrain, and unit abilities play a crucial role in your success. Whether you’re holding a chokepoint with hardy dwarves, launching a cavalry charge with humans, or raining magical fire with elven mages, every move feels impactful. The game rewards strategic thinking and punishes rash decisions, making each victory feel earned.

The units themselves are diverse and customizable. Each faction has its own roster of units, from nimble archers to hulking giants, and as you progress, you can upgrade them with new abilities and equipment. The RPG-like progression system adds a layer of investment to your troops – losing a veteran unit in battle feels like a genuine tragedy, not just a minor setback.

Visually, Fantasy Wars strikes a balance between charm and functionality. The environments are colorful and varied, with lush forests, desolate wastelands, and fortified castles serving as the backdrops for your campaigns. The unit designs are detailed enough to distinguish at a glance, though the graphics, even for 2007, lean toward the modest side. The music and sound effects are suitably grand, adding to the game’s sense of scale and drama.

The biggest hurdle for newcomers is the difficulty. Fantasy Wars doesn’t pull its punches, and even early missions can feel overwhelming if you’re not paying attention to unit synergy, terrain bonuses, and enemy tactics. The learning curve is steep, but for veterans of turn-based strategy games, this challenge is part of the appeal. If you’re willing to put in the effort, the game’s tactical depth is immensely rewarding.

One potential drawback is the lack of variety in mission objectives. While the battles themselves are engaging, many missions boil down to capturing specific points or defeating all enemies. The pacing can also feel slow, especially if you’re used to faster-paced strategy games.

Overall, Fantasy Wars is a hidden gem for fans of turn-based strategy. It’s challenging, satisfying, and packed with the kind of tactical nuance that keeps you coming back for “just one more turn.” If you’re a fan of games like Heroes of Might and Magic or Advance Wars and crave a fantasy twist, Fantasy Wars is well worth your time. Just be prepared to plan, adapt, and outwit – or face the wrath of an orc horde.

PC Game Review and Overview

Catwoman for PC, based on the 2004 movie starring Halle Berry, is a game that, much like the film itself, has earned a reputation for being… a mixed bag. Developed by Argonaut Games, this action-adventure lets you take on the role of the iconic antiheroine in a story of revenge, feline finesse, and questionable physics. It’s a game that tries to capture Catwoman’s style and agility but often lands more like a housecat missing a jump.

The game loosely follows the movie’s plot, throwing you into the shoes (or rather, stilettos) of Patience Phillips, an artist-turned-superpowered cat burglar. Armed with acrobatic moves, a whip, and a set of clawed gloves, you’ll leap, swing, and purr your way through levels filled with enemies to claw and puzzles to solve. It’s a straightforward premise: stop the bad guys, look fabulous doing it, and maybe toss in a sassy one-liner or two.

The core gameplay is all about agility and combat. Catwoman’s movement is fluid, allowing you to run up walls, swing across gaps, and perform stylish parkour moves. The whip is both your main weapon and your tool for navigating the environment, adding a bit of variety to the mix. On paper, it sounds great. In practice, however, the controls are often more frustrating than feline grace would suggest. The camera, in particular, has a habit of going rogue, leaving you guessing which way is up – much like a cat that’s just discovered a laser pointer.

Combat is a similar mixed experience. You’ll use your whip and claws to take down foes, and while the animations are flashy, the actual mechanics feel shallow and repetitive. There’s a scoring system that rewards you for stylish takedowns, but it doesn’t do much to mask the limited variety in enemy encounters. The AI also seems to be on a break more often than not, making fights feel less like a battle of wits and more like batting at a ball of yarn.

Visually, the game does its best to channel the movie’s aesthetic. The character model for Catwoman is well-detailed for its time, complete with her trademark leather outfit and slinky movements. The environments, however, are bland and uninspired, with repetitive textures and designs that fail to capture the glamor or grit the character deserves. The soundtrack is similarly forgettable, with generic action music that doesn’t leave much of an impression.

Despite its flaws, Catwoman does have moments of charm, mostly in its dedication to making you feel like a super-agile, whip-wielding antiheroine. The occasional set-piece or stylish maneuver reminds you of the game’s potential, even if it’s rarely realized. It’s also a curiosity for fans of the character or those who enjoy delving into the “so bad it’s kind of fun” territory of gaming.

In the end, Catwoman for PC is a game that claws at greatness but mostly lands on its feet with a thud. It’s clunky, repetitive, and often frustrating, but if you’re in the mood for some campy action and can overlook its shortcomings, it might just scratch that itch. Just don’t expect it to land on all fours.

When Catwoman comes across this little feline she is in luck. Finding Midnight gives Catwoman nine lives.

Easy battles:
When battling Laurel Hedare, Tom Lone, or the man in black who tries to kill her, always attack them from the back. You will be able to hit them about three times before they attack again. Otherwise, you will just roll away and get hurt.

Kitty dance:

Game Review and Overview

3001: Space Survival for PC is an indie survival game that takes the vast loneliness of space and turns it into your ultimate test of wits and resourcefulness. While not a household name, this title has carved out a small but loyal fanbase thanks to its challenging gameplay, atmospheric design, and an ever-present sense of “am I going to make it out of this alive?” If you’ve ever wanted to know what it’s like to be stranded in a futuristic void with nothing but your smarts and some scrap, this game is calling your name.

The premise is simple but effective: you’re a lone survivor aboard a derelict space station, floating in the unforgiving void of 3001. Resources are scarce, the station is falling apart, and danger lurks in the form of malfunctioning systems, hostile lifeforms, and the constant threat of running out of oxygen. Your mission? Survive. Easier said than done.

The gameplay blends elements of crafting, exploration, and strategy. You’ll scavenge the station for materials, repair critical systems, and fend off threats as you work to keep yourself alive. Each decision feels like a matter of life or death – do you spend your last power cell fixing the oxygen generator, or do you rig up a weapon to defend yourself from that suspicious skittering in the vents? The balance of risk and reward keeps you hooked, even as you teeter on the brink of disaster.

What really sets 3001: Space Survival apart is its atmosphere. The game nails the oppressive, claustrophobic feel of being alone in space. The station’s dim lighting, eerie sounds, and stark visuals combine to create a world that feels both beautiful and terrifying. The minimalist design works in its favor, drawing you into the environment while leaving just enough to your imagination to keep the tension high.

Despite its strengths, the game isn’t without its flaws. The difficulty curve is brutal, especially for newcomers. If you’re not ready to fail (a lot), 3001 might feel more frustrating than fun. The crafting system, while deep, can also feel overly complex at times, and the lack of a detailed tutorial means you’ll be spending a fair amount of time figuring things out through trial and error. Additionally, the story is sparse, relying heavily on environmental storytelling rather than traditional narrative beats, which might not appeal to players who crave a more structured experience.

Overall, 3001: Space Survival is a tough but rewarding experience that will appeal to fans of hardcore survival games and space exploration. It’s not for everyone – the steep learning curve and minimalist approach might turn off more casual players – but if you’re looking for a challenge and love the thrill of surviving against all odds, this indie gem is worth a shot. Just don’t expect space to show you any mercy.

Game Review and Overview

04X – Alien Eliminator is the kind of quirky indie PC game that revels in its simplicity, delivering fast-paced alien-blasting action wrapped in a retro aesthetic. While it didn’t make waves when it launched (whenever that was—good luck digging up release details), it’s become a cult favorite among fans of old-school arcade shooters. Think Space Invaders meets DOOM, with a pinch of low-budget charm and a whole lot of lasers.

The premise? You’re humanity’s last line of defense against waves of extraterrestrial invaders who seem to have one goal: turn Earth into their new galactic BBQ pit. Armed with a wide arsenal of increasingly ridiculous weapons, your mission is simple—eliminate every alien that dares to step foot (or tentacle) onto the battlefield. There’s no grand narrative here, but honestly, when you’re vaporizing hordes of enemies with a plasma cannon, who needs a deep story?

Gameplay is where 04X – Alien Eliminator shines. It’s fast, frenetic, and unapologetically chaotic. You’ll zip around in tight arenas, dodging projectiles and taking down alien grunts, bosses, and everything in between. The controls are tight and responsive, making it easy to pull off daring maneuvers as the action heats up. Each level introduces new enemy types and hazards, keeping things fresh while testing your reflexes. It’s simple, arcade-style fun with just the right amount of challenge to keep you hooked.

One of the game’s standout features is its weapon system. You start with a standard blaster, but as you progress, you’ll unlock everything from flamethrowers to gravity bombs. Some weapons are pure powerhouses, while others are delightfully weird (the bouncing laser, for instance, is as hilarious as it is effective). The variety keeps you experimenting, and nothing beats the satisfaction of finding the perfect weapon to obliterate a particularly pesky boss.

Visually, 04X goes all-in on the retro vibe. Its pixelated graphics are bursting with neon colors and over-the-top effects, giving the game a distinct aesthetic that feels like a love letter to the arcade era. The sound design matches the vibe perfectly, with thumping beats and energetic sound effects that make every explosion and alien squeal that much more satisfying. It’s a sensory overload in the best way possible.

If there’s a downside, it’s that the game’s depth might not appeal to everyone. 04X is all about the action, and if you’re looking for intricate mechanics or a sprawling campaign, you might come away disappointed. But for those who love pure, unfiltered arcade thrills, it’s a hidden gem worth seeking out.

In the end, 04X – Alien Eliminator isn’t trying to reinvent the wheel—it’s just trying to blast it to smithereens. And in that mission, it succeeds gloriously. Whether you’re an arcade veteran or just looking for a quick, fun way to blow off steam, this game delivers the goods. Just be prepared to lose track of time as you chase that high score and eliminate aliens like a pro.

PC Game Review

aerofly FS for PC is a sleek, visually impressive flight simulator that aims to make soaring through the skies feel more inviting and less intimidating than the heavyweights of the genre. Developed by IPACS and first released in 2012 (but still going strong more than a decade later), this sim doesn’t try to overload you with endless switches, knobs, and flight manuals. Instead, it focuses on delivering a polished, accessible flying experience with crisp graphics, responsive controls, and a solid range of aircraft. If you’ve ever wanted to take to the skies without needing a pilot’s license and a spreadsheet, aerofly FS might be your perfect runway.

From the moment you take off, it’s clear that the emphasis is on fluidity and immersion. The game’s graphics are absolutely stunning, especially for its release window. Sweeping vistas, detailed aircraft models, and smooth frame rates combine to create an experience that feels more like a flying dream than a traditional sim. The terrain is based on high-resolution images of Switzerland, so you’ll be gliding over mountains, lakes, and charming villages with a postcard-perfect view.

The aircraft selection is varied and well-executed, with everything from nimble gliders to sturdy Cessnas and high-performance jets. Each one handles differently and comes with detailed cockpits, but without drowning the player in overly complex avionics. Controls are streamlined for ease of use, whether you’re flying with a joystick, a gamepad, or even just a keyboard and mouse. This simplicity means beginners can get airborne in minutes, while still enjoying a satisfying sense of control.

That said, the trade-off for accessibility is depth. Hardcore sim fans may find aerofly FS lacking in terms of procedural realism, global navigation systems, or extensive aircraft systems modeling. There’s no air traffic control, no weather variation, and no long-haul international flights. The game is limited to the Swiss region, so while the landscape is gorgeous, the scope is relatively narrow.

One of the game’s strongest points is its smooth performance. Even on modest systems, it runs like a dream, allowing for uninterrupted flights without the stutter or lag often seen in heavier sims. The physics model is solid and gives a convincing feeling of flight, even if it doesn’t model every tiny aerodynamic nuance. For casual players or those looking for a visually relaxing sim experience, it strikes a nice balance.

In the end, aerofly FS is a beautiful, beginner-friendly flight simulator that prioritizes ease of use and visual fidelity over exhaustive realism. It’s not a replacement for the likes of X-Plane or Microsoft Flight Simulator, but it’s also not trying to be. It’s about the joy of flying; pure, simple, and scenic. If you want to jump into the cockpit and enjoy the view without getting a degree in aeronautical engineering first, aerofly FS is a smooth ride worth taking.

DOS Game Review

Battle Isle for PC DOS, released in 1991 by Blue Byte Software, is a turn-based strategy classic that helped define the genre in the early ’90s – especially for players hungry for futuristic warfare served with a side of hexagonal grid glory. Set on the distant planet of Chromos, Battle Isle pits you in a high-stakes tactical war between two factions, complete with tanks, hovercrafts, and enough laser fire to satisfy even the most die-hard armchair general.

Unlike the real-time chaos of later strategy games, Battle Isle takes a more thoughtful, chess-like approach. Each turn is divided into two phases – one for movement, one for combat – and each side alternates, executing their orders with all the mechanized flair of a sci-fi military parade. This strict separation keeps things orderly and tactical, forcing players to think multiple moves ahead rather than just reacting in the moment.

The campaign follows the conflict between the Drullian forces and the Titan-Net, a rogue AI faction bent on domination. The story is delivered in briefings and mission setups, adding just enough sci-fi flair to keep you invested while staying focused on the strategic meat of the game. You’ll command everything from infantry and recon vehicles to heavy artillery and air units, each with their own stats, strengths, and ideal terrains.

The game’s hex-based maps are well-designed and varied, with different terrain types affecting movement and visibility. Hills offer strategic advantage, water slows down tanks, and roads speed up unit travel. Knowing when to push forward, when to hold the line, and where to position your artillery is key to victory. It’s a slow burn of a game, but for those who enjoy methodical, brainy warfare, it’s immensely satisfying.

Visually, Battle Isle holds up surprisingly well for an early ’90s DOS title. Units are rendered in a clean, pseudo-isometric style, and the battle animations, though simple, add a nice splash of drama to each exchange of fire. The interface is minimal but functional, and once you get the hang of it, everything flows smoothly. The soundtrack is limited, but the sound effects get the job done, punctuating each explosion and engine roar with that nostalgic PC charm.

If there’s a downside, it’s the learning curve. Battle Isle doesn’t hold your hand. There’s no flashy tutorial, and the interface can feel a bit obtuse to newcomers. Plus, the AI is no slouch. Expect to be punished for sloppy play or poor positioning. Multiplayer (played hot-seat style or via early modem setups) was a standout feature at the time, but it’s more of a historical footnote today.

Still, Battle Isle remains a seminal title in the strategy genre. It laid the groundwork for later entries like Battle Isle 2 and Incubation, and helped establish Blue Byte as a developer to watch. If you’re a fan of deep tactics, old-school strategy design, and hexes as far as the eye can see, Battle Isle is well worth revisiting. It may be DOS-based and low-res, but under the hood, this is still a tactical powerhouse.

Battle Chess PC Game Review

Battle Chess for PC DOS is the game that asked the very serious question, “What if pawns could beat each other to death with maces?” Released in 1988 by Interplay, Battle Chess took the classic strategy of traditional chess and added a heavy dose of animation, personality, and medieval carnage. It’s part game, part spectacle, and for many players, it was the first time chess felt… well, cool.

The core gameplay is straightforward – this is standard chess, with all the familiar rules intact. No gimmicks, no new mechanics, just good old-fashioned king-hunting. But the magic happens when you make a capture. Instead of one piece simply replacing another, you’re treated to an animated showdown between the two combatants. Bishops swing morning stars, queens throw lightning bolts, and knights perform dramatic finishing moves. It’s like Monty Python and the Holy Grail collided with a chessboard.

Each of the 35 possible capturing combinations features a unique animated sequence, and this was groundbreaking at the time. Watching your rook morph into a stone golem to clobber a knight was endlessly entertaining. Sure, after a while you’d seen every animation and might want to skip them for faster play, but the first few games were less about strategy and more about seeing what kind of medieval chaos would unfold next. Who knows? This may have even inspired the famous Wizard’s Chess sequence from the end of the first Harry Potter movie.

Visually, Battle Chess was impressive for its time. The 2.5D isometric view, pixel art characters, and fluid animations pushed the limits of late-80s PCs. Sound effects and MIDI music added to the drama, with bone-crunching impacts and triumphant fanfares that gave each capture some theatrical flair. On machines with a sound card, the experience felt downright cinematic.

Despite all the pizzazz, the game still functions as a competent chess engine. You can play against the computer at varying difficulty levels or go head-to-head with a friend. The AI won’t dethrone grandmasters, but it offers a solid challenge for casual players. And while the animated battles are the main attraction, they never overshadow the fundamental strategy of the game.

There are a few drawbacks. The animations, while fun, can slow down gameplay, especially for players who prefer a faster pace. The interface is also a bit clunky by modern standards, and mouse support wasn’t universal across early DOS versions. But considering the era, these are minor issues in an otherwise charming package.

Ultimately, Battle Chess is a shining example of how to inject fun and creativity into a centuries-old game. It doesn’t reinvent the rules of chess, but it absolutely reinvents the vibe. Whether you’re a veteran chess player or someone who just enjoys watching a knight impale a pawn with a touch of drama, Battle Chess is a classic worth revisiting. Just try not to cheer too loudly when your queen turns a bishop into a pile of bones.

Capture Queen:

Type distractionpiece during game play to have one of your bishops move around the screen before landing on the board, removing the opposing Queen. Note: This code may only be enabled once per game and only works in some versions.

Change settings:

Start the game with the cdchess /help command line to list several command line parameters that can be used to change your sound card and COM port settings.

Game Review and Overview

Abomination: The Nemesis Project for PC is a grim and gritty tactical squad-based game from Hothouse Creations, released in 1999. It drops you into a post-apocalyptic world where a deadly plague has ravaged humanity, and monstrous creatures now roam the ruins. If that doesn’t set the stage for a bleak and brutal experience, nothing will. Combining elements of real-time strategy and squad-based tactics, Abomination aims to put you in the boots of humanity’s last hope. But does it succeed? Let’s dig into the carnage.

The premise is straight out of a dystopian fever dream. A cult known as “The Faithful” is trying to speed up the apocalypse, and you’re in charge of a ragtag squad of genetically enhanced soldiers tasked with stopping them. The stakes are high, the enemies are grotesque, and the atmosphere is relentlessly oppressive. It’s a game that dares you to save the world, but only after it’s already gone to hell.

Gameplay involves managing your squad as you take on missions ranging from scavenging for resources to exterminating enemy forces. Each soldier has unique skills and stats, and as you progress, you’ll level them up, customize their loadouts, and inevitably mourn them when they die in battle (and they will die). Combat is fast-paced and unforgiving, blending real-time strategy with a bit of tactical pausing to issue orders. It’s like X-COM on a bad day, with the tension dialed up to eleven.

One of the game’s standout features is its world map, where you’ll juggle resource management, base building, and mission selection. The plague spreads dynamically, and letting it get out of hand will lead to devastating consequences. The pressure to make the right decisions feels immense, and every victory comes with the nagging thought that you’re only delaying the inevitable.

Visually, Abomination is a mixed bag. The environments are dark and gritty, fitting the apocalyptic tone, but the character sprites and animations feel stiff and dated, even for its time. The UI can be clunky and takes some getting used to, which isn’t great when you’re trying to manage chaos on multiple fronts. The sound design, however, deserves praise. It’s creepy and atmospheric, with unsettling music and eerie creature noises that keep you on edge.

The game’s biggest flaw lies in its difficulty curve and occasional lack of polish. The AI can be frustratingly inconsistent, both for your squad and your enemies. Missions often descend into chaotic shootouts where strategy takes a backseat to pure luck, which can feel at odds with the game’s tactical aspirations. And while the story is intriguing, the narrative delivery lacks the punch to fully immerse you in the world.

In the end, Abomination: The Nemesis Project is a flawed but ambitious game that offers plenty of tense, nail-biting moments for fans of squad-based tactics and post-apocalyptic settings. It’s rough around the edges, and its punishing difficulty won’t appeal to everyone, but there’s a grim satisfaction in surviving just one more mission against impossible odds. If you’re up for a challenge and don’t mind a bit of jank, this cult classic might just infect your gaming library.

Bananoid PC Game Review

Bananoid for PC DOS is a lighthearted brick-breaking game released in the early 1990s by Accursed Toys, known primarily for its inclusion in the Bop-A-Bet collection of educational and arcade titles. Clearly inspired by Arkanoid and Breakout, Bananoid puts its own whimsical spin on the formula with a banana-themed paddle, cartoonish visuals, and a dose of silliness – but make no mistake, this is still a fairly straightforward arcade game at its core.

The gameplay is familiar: use your banana-shaped paddle to bounce a ball upward and destroy bricks. Each stage introduces a slightly new pattern of blocks to break, and as with other games in the genre, the objective is simple: clear the screen without letting the ball fall past you. The controls are tight and responsive, and the game runs well even on modest DOS-era hardware.

Where Bananoid stands out is in its presentation. The graphics are colorful and quirky, embracing a light comic aesthetic that makes it visually distinct from more sterile or sci-fi-themed breakout clones of the time. The smoothly rendered paddle adds a bit of personality, though it doesn’t affect the gameplay. Backgrounds and block designs change from level to level, adding visual variety even as the mechanics remain largely the same.

Sound effects in Bananoid are minimal, using simple PC speaker tones common in early DOS games. There is no background music or digitized speech. This keeps the experience focused and undistracting, though it also means the game can feel a bit tame by modern standards.

Bananoid does not feature power-ups, special weapons, or advanced physics. It is a relatively basic implementation of the brick-breaking formula, meant more for quick, casual fun than long-term depth or strategic variation. Levels do increase in speed and difficulty, but the core loop remains consistent throughout.

While not a revolutionary title, Bananoid is a charming, accessible arcade game that adds a touch of personality to a tried-and-true genre. Its humor is visual rather than mechanical, and its design is simple rather than groundbreaking. For retro gamers or DOS collectors, it’s a fun little diversion and a colorful example of early 90s shareware creativity.

PC Game Review and Overview

Chasm: The Rift for PC is a lesser-known but fondly remembered gem of the mid-’90s FPS era. Developed by Action Forms and released in 1997, this game takes the frantic action of DOOM and Quake and mixes in its own unique twist: the ability to dismember enemies. As such, this one isn’t for the youngsters, but older gamers who appreciate old-school gore are likely to enjoy the brutal action. If you’re into fast-paced shooting, creepy monsters, and a dose of retro charm, Chasm: The Rift is a nostalgic dive into a time when games were all about gritty corridors and chaotic firefights.

The story is classic ’90s FPS minimalism: time-rifts are messing up reality, and you’re the lone soldier sent to clean up the mess. Armed to the teeth, you’ll blast through waves of mutants and monsters that have spilled into the timeline, from ancient Egypt to futuristic industrial zones. It’s not exactly Shakespeare, but it’s more than enough excuse to dive into the carnage.

What sets Chasm apart is its emphasis on strategic dismemberment. Enemies don’t just keel over when you shoot them – they lose limbs, heads, and sometimes even continue attacking in horrifyingly creative ways. It adds an extra layer of gruesome satisfaction to the already tight gunplay. The arsenal feels powerful, with classic staples like shotguns and machine guns, along with some inventive sci-fi weaponry. Every shot hits hard, and the enemy designs are varied enough to keep you guessing about how best to dismantle them.

Visually, Chasm sits somewhere between DOOM’s sprite-based simplicity and Quake’s early 3D grittiness. It uses a voxel-based engine that gives the environments a distinct, blocky look while allowing for some surprisingly detailed enemy models and gore effects. The lighting is atmospheric, with plenty of shadowy corners and eerie flickering that heighten the tension. Sure, it’s dated by today’s standards, but for fans of retro shooters, it’s a delightful slice of mid-’90s tech.

The level design is solid, with a mix of open arenas, tight corridors, and puzzles that require a bit of thought without bogging down the action. Secrets are scattered throughout, rewarding exploration and adding replay value. The sound design is also worth mentioning—the weapon effects are satisfyingly punchy, and the ambient music creates a foreboding atmosphere that matches the game’s grim aesthetic.

On the downside, Chasm: The Rift can feel a little derivative of its more famous peers, and its story doesn’t do much to stand out. Some levels can be a bit maze-like, leading to moments of frustration as you backtrack in search of the next objective. The difficulty is also unforgiving at times, with relentless enemies and limited health pickups that demand precision and patience.

Still, Chasm: The Rift is a hidden gem for fans of classic FPS games. It captures the chaotic energy and fast-paced action of the era while adding enough unique elements to carve out its own identity. If you’re a retro shooter enthusiast or just want to see what the genre looked like in its transitional years, this game is worth checking out. Grab your shotgun, keep an eye on your ammo, and watch those rifts… You never know what might crawl out.

Banished PC Game Review and Overview

Banished, a city-building survival game for PC released in 2014, is a unique blend of serenity and stress. Developed by indie developer Shining Rock Software, it puts you in charge of a small group of exiled settlers who must carve out a life from the unforgiving wilderness. While the premise sounds simple enough – build, survive, and thrive – the game’s deep mechanics and relentless difficulty ensure you’re always on your toes.

At first glance, Banished seems peaceful, almost meditative. The game’s visuals are beautifully understated, with quaint villages, rustic architecture, and picturesque seasons that range from lush summers to snow-blanketed winters. But don’t let that tranquility fool you – this game doesn’t pull its punches. You’ll quickly learn that every decision matters, and one small mistake can lead to a snowball effect of hunger, sickness, and, eventually, your village’s doom.

The gameplay revolves around managing your villagers, their resources, and their happiness. Food, firewood, and shelter are your immediate priorities, but as your population grows, so do your challenges. You’ll need to balance expansion with sustainability, ensuring you don’t deplete natural resources or overstretch your workforce. Every action has a ripple effect – overfishing a river could mean starvation, while neglecting to stockpile firewood could leave your villagers freezing in winter. It’s a delicate juggling act that’s as rewarding as it is nerve-wracking.

One of the game’s standout features is its lack of traditional currency or trade mechanics. Instead, your economy is entirely barter-based, which adds an extra layer of complexity. Want to trade for livestock or seeds? You’ll need to offer something of equal value, whether it’s surplus tools, clothing, or harvested goods. This system feels refreshingly organic and emphasizes the importance of careful planning and resource management.

Another highlight is the game’s flexibility. There are no fixed goals or campaigns, so you’re free to play at your own pace. Whether you aim to create a sprawling, self-sufficient metropolis or a modest, cozy hamlet, Banished gives you the tools to make it happen. The game’s modding community also deserves a shout-out, offering everything from new buildings and resources to entirely new gameplay mechanics.

However, Banished isn’t without its challenges – and not just in gameplay. Its steep learning curve can feel overwhelming for newcomers, and the lack of a detailed tutorial means you’ll likely learn through trial and (sometimes heartbreaking) error. Additionally, while the game’s minimalist aesthetic and mechanics are its charm, some players might find the lack of narrative or overarching objectives a bit aimless.

Despite these minor critiques, Banished is a masterclass in survival strategy, offering a deeply engrossing experience that rewards patience and thoughtful planning. It’s a game where every choice matters, every crisis feels personal, and every successful harvest brings a sigh of relief. If you’re a fan of city-builders with a survival twist – or just enjoy the idea of building a thriving village from scratch – Banished is a must-play. Just don’t get too attached to your villagers… because if Game of Thrones has taught us anything, winter is always coming.

Game Review and Overview

RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 for PC is the ultimate theme park simulator for anyone who’s ever dreamed of designing the world’s most thrilling roller coasters – or just wanted to watch guests flee in terror from a poorly engineered loop-de-loop. Released in 2004, this third installment in the legendary RollerCoaster Tycoon series cranked things up a notch, bringing fully 3D graphics, loads of customization options, and enough chaos to make any budding park manager feel like a kid in a candy store.

Right off the bat, RCT3 gives you the keys to the kingdom; or rather, the theme park. Whether you dive into the structured challenges of Career mode or unleash your imagination in Sandbox mode, the game is all about building, managing, and thriving (or spectacularly failing) in your amusement empire. From designing hair-raising roller coasters to setting up charming carousels, every decision is yours to make. And trust me, your guests will let you know how you’re doing.

The highlight, of course, is the coaster design. RCT3 lets you go wild with loops, twists, drops, and ridiculous spirals that defy the laws of physics. Want to create a gentle family ride? Sure! Prefer to craft a vomit-inducing monstrosity? Go for it! The game even includes a “CoasterCam” that lets you ride your creations in first-person. There’s nothing quite like experiencing the terror of your own engineering missteps up close.

But it’s not all about the rides. Managing your park is just as important, and just as fun. You’ll need to balance ticket prices, staff wages, and maintenance costs while keeping guests happy (or at least not mutinously angry). Guests have whims and needs, from hunger and thirst to a fear of heights, and you’ll need to cater to all of them if you want to succeed. Or, you know, you can build one overpriced restroom and see how long it takes for chaos to ensue. Your call.

Visually, RCT3 was a big leap forward for the series. The transition to 3D brought your parks to life in a whole new way, with dynamic lighting, weather effects, and adorable little guests waddling around. The game also introduced themed areas and water parks with the Soaked! expansion, plus animal attractions with Wild!, making it feel like you’re running a mini-world of entertainment.

That said, RCT3 isn’t perfect. The 3D graphics, while charming, can feel a bit dated today, and the controls for terrain editing and coaster building can occasionally feel fiddly. The guest AI, though improved from earlier entries, still has its quirks – you might find yourself wondering why someone would eat five burgers, get on a roller coaster, and then complain about nausea. But hey, realism isn’t why you’re here.

Overall, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 is a joyous sandbox of creativity and chaos. It’s the kind of game where hours disappear as you perfect your park layout or test how many G-forces your guests can handle before they pass out. Whether you’re a longtime fan of the series or a newcomer ready to embrace the madness, RCT3 delivers thrills, spills, and a whole lot of fun. So, what are you waiting for? Strap in and let the coaster madness begin!

Game Review and Overview

.kkrieger: Chapter 1 is less a traditional PC game and more of a jaw-dropping tech demo masquerading as a first-person shooter. Developed by the wizards at the demoscene group .theprodukkt and released in 2004, it’s not famous for sprawling gameplay or deep storylines. No, what makes this game legendary is its mind-bending file size: just 96 kilobytes. That’s right – this entire game is smaller than a single high-resolution JPEG. If you’re already thinking, “How is that even possible?” Welcome to the magic of procedural generation.

Set in a futuristic industrial complex filled with enemies and eerie atmosphere, kkrieger is a bite-sized shooter where you blast your way through tight corridors, navigating a world that looks far too detailed to fit on your floppy disk (yes, it can fit on a floppy disk). The environments are dark, gritty, and surprisingly complex, with dynamic lighting, reflective surfaces, and textures that could easily belong in a game 1,000 times the size. It’s an impressive flex, especially for its time.

The gameplay is straightforward FPS fare: grab a gun, shoot enemies, and make your way to the end of the level. There’s no sprawling narrative or deep character development here – just you, some weirdly alien foes, and a lot of corridors. The controls are responsive, though the action is relatively barebones compared to more polished shooters. The enemies are functional but not particularly bright, serving mostly as props to show off the game’s technical wizardry.

What truly sets kkrieger apart is its tech. Using procedural generation, the game’s assets – including textures, models, and sounds – are generated on the fly when you launch it. Instead of storing traditional data, kkrieger relies on mathematical algorithms to create everything in real time. It’s like packing an entire pizza into a sugar cube and having it expand into a full meal when you add water. Sure, it might not be the best pizza you’ve ever had, but you can’t help but marvel at the ingenuity.

Visually, kkrieger punches well above its weight class. The textures are detailed, the lighting is dynamic, and there’s even some atmospheric flair like glowing particles and reflective surfaces. Granted, it’s not without its flaws. Occasionally muddy textures and stiff animations remind you this isn’t Half-Life 2 – but the sheer ambition makes it easy to overlook these shortcomings.

The biggest downside? The game is short. Really short. Clocking in at roughly 10-15 minutes of gameplay, it’s more of an experience than a full-fledged game. But that’s part of its charm. kkrieger isn’t here to compete with blockbusters; it’s here to blow your mind with what’s possible in just 96 kilobytes.

In the end, kkrieger: Chapter 1 is a technical marvel that showcases the brilliance of the demoscene and the power of procedural generation. It’s not a game you’ll play for hours, but it’s one you’ll remember for years, if only to marvel at its impossibly tiny size. If you’re into tech, retro gaming, or just enjoy seeing boundaries pushed, this one’s worth a download – and hey, it won’t even make a dent in your storage.

Game Review and Overview

Talk about rare. An Introduction to Australian Mammals for the PC is a niche gem that feels more like a digital field guide than a traditional game. Likely created in the late 1990s or early 2000s (exact details are murky), this educational title is a charming mix of learning and light interaction. Aimed at wildlife enthusiasts, students, or anyone curious about Australia’s unique fauna, it offers an engaging, if low-tech, window into the world of marsupials, monotremes, and more.

The “gameplay” revolves around exploring a virtual landscape or menu-driven encyclopedia, where each click brings up fascinating facts, photos, and illustrations of iconic animals like kangaroos, koalas, and platypuses. For those looking to dive deeper, there are sections covering habitat, diet, and behavior, all written in a friendly, approachable tone. While there’s no high-stakes action or puzzles to solve, the thrill comes from learning about creatures that look like they belong in a fantasy RPG.

Visually, the game is simple, with static images, basic animations, and an interface that screams “educational CD-ROM.” But what it lacks in graphical pizzazz, it makes up for with its earnest dedication to its subject. The audio – if your copy includes it – might feature snippets of animal sounds or narration, adding a nice touch of immersion to your armchair exploration of the Australian outback.

If you’re expecting cutting-edge mechanics or flashy visuals, you’ll be disappointed. However, as a learning tool, An Introduction to Australian Mammals is surprisingly endearing. It’s a love letter to the weird and wonderful creatures of Australia, wrapped in a nostalgic package that might take you back to the days of classroom computer labs and chunky monitors.

In the end, An Introduction to Australian Mammals is best viewed as a curiosity; a relic of a time when educational games were all the rage. It’s not groundbreaking, but for animal lovers and retro enthusiasts, it’s a delightful little detour into the land Down Under. Just don’t expect any boss battles – unless you count a really stubborn wombat fact quiz!

Game Review and Overview

Not to be confused with the other Ancient Aliens, 7 Wonders: Ancient Alien Makeover for PC takes the classic match-3 puzzle formula and gives it a cosmic twist. The game blends ancient history with sci-fi flair in a way that’s as quirky as it is addictive. Released in 2012 by MumboJumbo, this game invites players to channel their inner intergalactic architect, rebuilding the world’s greatest wonders with a little help from some extraterrestrial buddies. Because hey, who says aliens didn’t lend a hand with the pyramids?

The premise is delightfully absurd: your task is to gather resources by matching colorful tiles, all while aliens provide their otherworldly expertise to help you reconstruct iconic structures like the Great Wall of China and Stonehenge. These ancient wonders aren’t just being rebuilt – they’re being given an alien makeover, complete with glowing elements and futuristic flourishes. It’s like HGTV meets The X-Files, and honestly, we’re here for it.

Gameplay sticks to the tried-and-true match-3 mechanics, but it spices things up with unique twists. Power-ups, tools, and bonuses keep the action fresh, letting you clear tiles in spectacular ways as you rack up resources. There’s a satisfying rhythm to the gameplay; match tiles, collect materials, and watch your wonder come to life piece by piece. The gradual construction of these epic monuments adds a rewarding sense of progression, and the alien aesthetic gives each project a playful vibe.

Visually, the game is vibrant and engaging, with detailed animations that bring your constructions to life. The alien designs are charmingly cartoonish, and the wonders themselves look stunning, even if they’re not exactly historically accurate (looking at you, glowing alien obelisks). The upbeat soundtrack and sound effects add to the energy, making it hard not to smile as you crush another level.

While it’s undeniably fun, 7 Wonders: Ancient Alien Makeover doesn’t stray too far from the standard match-3 formula, which means it might feel a bit repetitive after extended play sessions. Still, its quirky theme and polished execution make it stand out in a crowded genre. It’s perfect for casual gamers or anyone looking for a lighthearted puzzler with a side of conspiracy theory-level creativity.

In the end, 7 Wonders: Ancient Alien Makeover is an addictive blend of history, sci-fi, and good old-fashioned puzzling. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, and neither should you – just lean into the silliness, enjoy the satisfying gameplay, and let the aliens guide your inner builder. Who knows? Maybe they’ll inspire your next home renovation project.

PC Game Review and Overview

A Game of Dwarves for PC is a charming blend of resource management, base building, and a hearty dose of subterranean humor. Released in 2012 by Paradox Interactive, it invites players to channel their inner dwarf lord as they dig, build, and occasionally blunder through the underground world. Think of it as part Dwarf Fortress lite, part Dungeon Keeper cute, with just enough grit to make you feel like you’ve earned your dwarven ale.

The story kicks off with a classic fantasy premise: your dwarves, under your (hopefully benevolent) rule, are on a quest to reclaim their former glory and uncover the secrets buried deep within the earth. As the leader, you’ll guide your merry band of bearded workers to dig deeper and deeper, uncovering resources, treasures, and – more often than not – angry enemies who don’t appreciate dwarves disrupting their cozy underground lives.

Gameplay revolves around managing your dwarves as they dig tunnels, build rooms, and gather resources to expand your colony. Each dwarf has their own specialization. Some are miners, others are warriors, and a few are just there to lounge around eating mushrooms. Balancing their roles and keeping them happy (read: well-fed and alive) is the key to success. Oh, and don’t forget to defend your burgeoning kingdom from the inevitable swarm of monsters lurking in the shadows.

Visually, A Game of Dwarves goes for a colorful, cartoonish art style that’s easy on the eyes and perfectly suited to its lighthearted tone. Watching your little bearded workers scurry around, digging and hammering away, is endlessly satisfying. The underground environments are surprisingly detailed, with layers of earth revealing treasures, traps, and the occasional grumpy skeleton. It’s all accompanied by a cheerful soundtrack that adds to the whimsical vibe.

That said, the game isn’t without its flaws. The AI can be a bit… let’s call it “quirky,” with dwarves occasionally getting stuck or wandering aimlessly instead of doing their jobs. The resource management and combat mechanics, while enjoyable, don’t run particularly deep, which might leave hardcore strategy fans wanting more. But if you’re here for a casual, relaxing experience with plenty of personality, it more than delivers.

Ultimately, A Game of Dwarves is a delightful underground adventure that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s a game for anyone who loves digging, managing quirky characters, and building a subterranean empire from scratch. Sure, it’s not as complex as its inspirations, but it’s packed with charm, humor, and just enough depth to keep you coming back for “one more layer.” So grab your pickaxe and your favorite mug of mead—it’s time to dig in!

During the opening sequence don’t worry about getting shot. Your objective is to help the girl at whatever cost. You must get close in order to do that.

Chasing the girl in the white cloak:
When chasing the girl in the white cloak, there will be several hot spots in the woods. Whenever a hot spot appears on a log or a piece of wood, use it. To do this you must fight off the king’s men and escape several times.

The Amazons strategy:
You must take down your opponent multiple times and recover by evading the attacks when your strength is low. Watch your energy meter and stop swinging when you are low. Look for the throws and duck while recovering.

Multi-player cooperation:
During multi-player mode, your base to a friend’s base. Your friend can defend you while you build.

Dragon clan: Break unit limit:
With a new character, train in the Royal Academy and Bath House. Train her to 20 units, then take them to train in the Shrine which provide them the magic. Choose all of them (press?B?for using the magic). Finally, your units will become 40 by using the magic. The sum of these 40 units plus your peasants will be more than the limit provided.

Lotus clan: Demon horse:
Tame a horse and let your unit ride it to near another clan. Dismount to release it, then wait and see if they ride that horse. It will take life from them.

Lotus clan: Get Ying faster and great fighting:
Train a Warlock unit and set magic by the Brother that has a leaf around his head. After that, get ice-blade for the Warlock. Your Warlock unit must have more than five (the more, the better). In battle, press?B?to destroy them all. However, it may take a few minutes to get stamina for the Brother.

Serpent clan: More Yin:
Select a Ronin trained with the Yin Blade accompanied with Shinja. Together they will generate twice the amount of Yin that two Ronins would have normally accumulated.

Wolf clan: Ballistaman’s bullet converts to totem:
Note: This will make the Ballistaman’s bullet converts to totem, which makes nearby enemies weak while you becomes stronger. Make as many Ballistamen as needed, then Bless them. Click the Ballistaman, press?B, then click on the ground. After clicking?B, press N?a minimum three times. If an enemy approaches your base, the Ballistaman will shoot it with arrows made of Totem (infinite).

Grow rice faster:
Build a keep and summon Gaihla. Put Gaihla on the rice field and your rice will grow faster.

Invisible horse:
Note: This trick is not applicable to the Wolf clan. Train a horse by locking it on your stable. Then, let it out by using your Peasants. Click a unit and place it near the stable. Then, bring your horse back to stable. Click your unit, and while the horse is walking towards the stablem double right click the selected unit. If done fast enough, your selected unit will ride on an invisible horse. As you can observe, that horse is free.

Horse killing:
Take one Peasant and your Solder in a group, then catch a horse to have the soldier automatically fight the horse.

Yin Yang for Lotus:
Build a Forge and create an Unclean One. Upgrade or click Silvered Steel in the forge. While upgrading the Silvered Steel, enter Unclean One in the Forge. If you see the Unclean One waiting outside of the forge, click the “Cancel” button or the “X” button on the bottom right of the forge several times.

Kenji in keep:
When your population is 39/40, build a keep while the last peasant is generating from the Peasant Hut. Make sure that when the last peasant exits from the Peasant House, the keep is already built. Note: the peasant should come out at the same time with the keep is done being built.

Deployment in England:
Do not send all available plane into the air. Usually the first sightings of enemy aircraft are diversions intended to draw your fighters away from other critical areas. Withhold most of your available fighter strength until you can know where the Germans are committing their forces.

England Pilot proficiency:
Keep examining the proficiency of each of your squadrons. For example, use veteran RAF pilots to intercept enemy bombers and have the less experienced fliers handle the enemy fighter escorts.

Penetrating airspace in Germany:
Come in under British radar range by flying below 500 feet while avoiding the low-altitude barrage balloons and light antiaircraft fire. Also, the average RAF squadron only requires several minutes to take off and engage your low-flying formation.

Cheat Codes:
Type?alyenya?during game play to enable cheat mode. Then, activate the following cheats by entering the corresponding codes. Note: The v1.66 patch will disable the codes:

CHEAT FUNCTION – CHEAT CODE
Reduce enemy units to 1 health – ALT? ?E
Clear all event flags – ALT? ?Y
First tasks in all academies complete – ALT? ?U
Toggle visibility of all units – ALT? ?I
Toggle fake times – ALT? ?J
Enable all buttons and mouse – ALT? ?F
Win current mission – ALT? ?M

Easy win hints:
-Reconnaissance is very useful. Lead a blind assault into enemy territory with medium Vulcan tanks and you will quickly learn how fragile they can be.

-Avoid attacking piecemeal. Instead, take the extra turn to make sure everything is in place before you assault serious fortifications.

-Use combined arms since artillery is useful for taking out enemy infantry before they can use rocket launchers on your vehicles. By the same token, your tanks are the best weapons against enemy tanks.

Jet mode:
The weapons in Jet mode are significantly less effective than the weapons in Walker mode. Couple this with the fact that Jet mode does not allow the Shield to generate. Only use Jet mode when you need to blow something up or kill a Fighter (or any other air units such as bombers, landers, etc.) in the air. Stay on your side of the battle as it will be nice to have a helping hand when things get rough. Avoid using all your energy while in Jet mode; when you land you will have no shield. Repair Pads are your friends — use them.

Instead, wait for them to come to you and use your rocket truck.

Level 6 hint:
This is an ambush and are going to come to you. Study the landscape. Tanks cannot cross mountains, and your rocket launcher must be defended. Look for places that are difficult to attack. Place the rocket launcher where there are mountains on three sides. Put a tank on the fourth side and do not move it. Invisible tanks still behave like normal tanks. They cannot move after they attack. However, you can only see them when you have a unit next to them. Send out one or two units to “scout” for tanks. If you find some, attack them with the rocket launcher or the other tanks. Your enemy will run out of tanks before you do. Do not extend too far from your “base”.

Envelopes:
Batman can find hidden envelopes throughout the game: the first is on the Rooftop Battle level, the second is on the Bridge level, the third is on the Plant Electrocution 2 level, the fourth is on the Gasworks Level, and the fifth is on the SWAT Chase level. If you find one, it will have a letter on it. They unlock infinite weapons, charge bar, and health as well as double damage, and invisibility. They are awarded by the order found, and not the letter. For example, if you collect Envelope E furstm you will get infinite weapons instead of invisibility.

Envelope B on Bridge:
Knock out the thug at the beginning of the level. You will see the glowing item on the left when you start. Climb the ladder and jump/glide around the crate onto the other crate, then glide onto the platform with the letter.

Envelope E on Gasworks:
You will find a room with two levels, each floor with two goons on them. First, take out the goons and look around on the lower floor until you see a sewer pipe with boxes in the sewage. Carefully glide down and land on the first box. Jump over the next few boxes and pick up the envelope with an “E” on it. Complete the game and the “Infinite Health” cheat will be unlocked.

Flying
To fly, press JUMP then press B twice. You cannot increase your altitude or fight while in the air.

Smoke bombs:
During the level after the Batcave training, look around the big square when you get to the area with a Joker thug. You will eventually find a ladder. Climb up the ladder, then look around for a box. Pick it up to get smoke bombs.

Hacking into Issac Evers files:
Find the second wire of the color you need (that is not powered). You must make the powered wire reach the non-powered one. For example, if you work on blue, you need to connect the live blue wire to the dead one.

Blimp puzzle:
Look in your inventory and examine the disc Batman picked up before fighting Mr. Freeze to reveal possible colors that work with the Blimp puzzle. The combination is Purple and Green. Make the color purple, “mix tubes”, then make the color green.

Mr. Freeze strategy:
Do not charge at him or you will be thrown and likely get frozen. Enter first-person mode and equip your demolition charges, then make sure Mr. Freeze is following you. Look up to find glass tanks moving on a hook. When he is under one, fire at it with your charges then detonate it so that it lands on him. Repeat this until you get a move where Batman grabs Mr. Freeze’s gun and freezes him to stop him from burning.

Joker’s thugs strategy:
You must be fast to knock out thugs after the Joker’s death. Use your block once your attack is over. One combo is to go back a few steps, move forward and punch, then quickly kick two times. This is useful when knocking thugs out while they are blocking your attacks.

Making Of Sin Tzu:
Defeat Sin Tzu at the end of the game to unlock a video of the game’s development.

Alternate costume:
Complete the game under the easy difficulty setting to unlock a new costume.

Scarecrow strategies:
-Scarecrow is a master of fear and creates a chemical to heighten it. Actually, in this battle, he has very few attacks. You start off in a gas-filled room. You will see ghost-like things flying around. One hit will kill them. Look at the blue gas surrounding the room. Notice that the gas seems to part in some areas, and footsteps can be heard. Run around, rolling where the gas clears. If you are lucky, Scarecrow (who was invisible), will appear. After that, beat him up and repeat.

-Scarecrow is pretty easy since he rarely attacks. To start off, look down at the floor. It is covered with some sort of blue gas. First, avoid or destroy all of the ghosts flying around. Notice how the gas seems to part in certain areas (but not your own). This is Scarecrow walking, so roll into him. He is invisible, and this lets you see and beat him up. Eventually he turns invisible again. Repeat the steps until he is defeated.

Clayface strategies:
-This Boss has many attacks. If you get too close, he makes a brick wall out of his chest then rams it at you. He also can turn his arms into sledge hammers of razor blades and lunge at you. The trick here is to evade until the lights turn green on the pipe-like electricity things on either side. After that, throw a Batarang at both as fast as you can, or hit them. The electricity will activate, and Clayface will get shocked. Go up and attack him. When he gets back, run to the far side. He will likely launch some kind of muck thing at you, which produce more muck monsters. Beat them up, then repeat step two. After a couple hits of electricity, dodging the attacks, you will win.

-Clayface can shoot muck that spawns little muck monsters, turn his arms into sledgehammers/razor blades, or ram you with a brick wall if you get too close. The trick is in the two electric outposts-like things on either side. Dodge until they turn green. Then, quickly hit each with a Batarang or your fists. This will turn on the electricity. He will be stunned. Hit Clayface’s face and repeat this until he is defeated.

Bane strategies:
-Bane powerful but lacks IQ. Unfortunately, he starts off invincible to your attacks. Stand back and wait for him to charge. Evade, and he will be off balance. Then, beat him up. He will do the same, except now you have to make him run into a wall, hitting him. Unfortunately, this causes rocks to fall from the ceiling. Dodge them. Also, he will start using some kind of earthquake attack — stay back if he is not advancing on you. After you beat him up, he will heal. Repeat the previous steps.

-Bane starts off invincible to any attack. Avoid him until he rams you and evade him to put him off balance, then strike. Afterwards, you must make him ram into a wall. After beating him up, he will stomp to make strange boulders fall from the ceiling. After those attacks are dodged, repeat. Once you knock out his health, he returns stronger. Repeat the previous steps to defeat him.

Sin Tzu strategies:
-Sin Tzu is immune to non-special attacks and is quick and powerful. Start by watching him run around. He will go into a series of four rushes. Evade all four of them, and he will backflip. Hit him then. Repeat, but do not stay around to long, until you get a full power meter. When he backflips, hit him with a power attack. Do this for some time. He will then run into his tower and summon enemies. Beat them up. Meanwhile he will be recovering health and shooting fire at you. After taking out his allies, get your power meter back up and repeat the previous steps. He will now sometimes go into a super-nova attack. Block it at all costs and repeat until he is defeated.

-Sin Tzu is insanely fast, amazingly strong, and invincible to any non-Power Attack. Start by letting him run at you. He will do a four-hit dash. Dodge all times and he will do a backflip. Hit him. Repeat this until your Power Meter is full. Then when he backflips, hit him hard. After a couple attacks, he will jump into his tower. He will summon units, regain health, and shoot fire at you. Once you defeat the enemies, he will stop healing and fight you. This part is all the same, except he will occasionally move to the room’s center and do a crazy attack. The only hope to dodge this is to block.
